Situated in the Woodridge Neighborhood overlooking Downtown Bellevue and Lake Washington, the original 2,300 sf, 4 bedroom, 3 bath home was one of the first houses designed by notable northwest Architect Fred Bassetti and completed in 1948. The original house was small with an open plan with floor to ceiling glass, a daylight basement and a flat roof. The original home had grown tired and was plagued by a continuously leaky roof. The remodel focused on providing a new sloped roof and transforming the spaces to fit modern living including two new single car garages. The real success of this project stems from maintaining the original plan layout while creating more dramatic volume by the new roofline embracing the views of Lake Washington and the sunny orientation of the site.
